Xbox Boss Reacts to Nintendo Switch News, Zelda, and Mario

Another Xbox higher-up has weighed in on the Nintendo Switch. Following comments from Xbox engineering boss Mike Ybarra, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has reacted to the system and some of its marquee games.
"Mario looked new/fresh," he said on Twitter, referring to Super Mario Odyssey. "[The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild] should be great."
In other news about Odyssey, Shigeru Miyamoto said this week that the game is on the "core side," more in line with what Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine.

As for the hybrid nature of the Switch, Spencer said it "will be fun to see what new game ideas come from that." The console can be played at home or on the go. You can see the system's specs here.

Some analysts and developers have doubted the appeal of the Switch and its hybrid nature. After Nintendo's newest Switch event this past week, Nintendo's share price dropped yet again.
The Switch launches on March 3, priced at $300. For lots more on the console, check out all of GameSpot's previous coverage here.
